St Peters is a typical village Church which was unfortunately found to have a rotting floor on which the pews were sitting. The Church and Architect saw this as an opportunity to reinstate the floor with Clipsham stone, in keeping with earlier repairs elsewhere in the Church.

The works involved carefully removing the existing pews for re-use, removing the rotten floor, preparing a sub-base and then laying a new Clipsham floor bedded on lime mortar.

Other works included haired-lime plaster repairs, and repairs to the pews which also had stabilisers added for easy future removal. These modifications have given greater flexibility in the use of space.
